While rumours are floating around in Delhi fashion circles about the alleged pullout of sponsors at one of the fashion weeks, Lakme has quickly announced the dates for their four-day show, starting March 27, at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt Hotel. “Our aims remain the same: to support new designers and give them a platform to showcase their creativity,” said Anil Chopra, advisor, Lakme, via e-mail. Though most of the heavyweight designers have stuck to Wills or have moved to the Delhi Fashion Week, Lakme has managed a formidable list of over 60 designers, including Sabyasachiand Arjun Khanna. One day of the week will be devoted to menswear and a huge chunk of accessory designers will be participating this time. Look out for Little Shilpa and her imaginative headgear (right, below) and Stoffa, a new Mumbai label of bags, belts and shoes.
