The party hosted by Lakme and IMG on Monday to celebrate ten years of fashion was an all-round success. Hosted at China House at the Grand Hyatt, Santa Cruz, the venue was the topic of conversation among the guests, since the Lakme Fashion Week is also to take place here. As a guests put it, it almost felt like a house-warming.

Sipping on the slurpilicious cocktails and trying out the shrimp rolls were denizens of the style bazaar — Anil and Sabina Chopra, Pria Kataria Puri, Drashta Sarvaiya, Sonakshi Sinha, Narendra Kumar, Wendell Rodricks, Nachiket Barve, Gayatri Khanna (who looked a little out of shape in a velour JJ Valaya outfit), Shane and Falguni Peacock and Rocky S. Sonakshi was seen hanging out with Kallol and when asked if she’ll be walking the ramp for him this time, after Shantanu-Nikhil last time, all she said was “Wait and Watch”. Even as trance and electronica reverberated through the two levels of the restaurant, dancing was at a minimal as most of the guests were busy talking shop.

Nachiket, who has had three successful seasons so far, was heard raving about the party. “Even though it was a bit of a commute, it was totally worth it coming to the party,” he enthused.

Showstopper If anyone had any doubts about the Lakme Fashion Week’s new venue, they were laid to rest by the fantastic catering and the excellent service. May the good times continue.
