Fear for life, says help raped by KC Theatre owner

Panchkula A day after Pawan Valecha, the owner of KC Theatre in Sector 5, was booked for raping a 35-year-old domestic help, the victim has claimed that she is being threatened by his men. Valecha, a resident of Sector 9, is absconding.

“I am very scared as I apprehend a threat to my life and my three children. Valecha’s men came to me this evening and threatened to kill me and my three children if I did not compromise. I am all the more scared as my husband is away in his native village at present. I have not told him about the incident yet,” the victim, a resident of Azad Colony, said.

She added that she was working as a domestic help in the house since the last five years. “As I was not well, I was not working for around two months. I had rejoined work only ten days ago,” she said.

She added that she was raped on Monday morning when Valecha’s wife Chetna had gone to drop her children to school. “As I was dusting the drawing room, Valecha asked me to clean his room first. The moment I stepped inside, he came in and locked the door. Then, he switched on the TV, took out a pistol and raped me. Around noon, when Valecha heard his wife come home, he asked me to leave the house,” said the victim.

“As I reached the gate of the house, I fell unconscious. Chetna, on seeing that I was unwell, gave me Rs 30 to buy medicines,” she added.

The police, meanwhile, are trying to trace the accused. Station House Officer of the Sector-5 police station, Inspector Baljit Singh, told Newsline: “The forensic report of the victim has been sent to Madhuban for testing. The situation will be clear only after a DNA test of the accused is conducted.”

MDC rape accused remanded in judicial custody for two weeks

A 26-year-old driver, who is accused of raping a minor girl from Bhainsa Tibba in Mansa Devi Complex for nearly three months, was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days by the court on Wednesday. Chander Bhan, a resident of Bhainsa Tibba village, was booked under Sections 376, 506, 363, 366 of the IPC by the Panchkula police on Monday night after the victim’s family filed a complaint. The victim’s father Prakash states in his complaint: “My daughter is a student of Class VIII in a school in Manimajra. In December, the accused forcibly dragged her inside his house and raped her. Thereafter, the accused raped her several times in secluded areas and nearby forests. He threatened her of dire consequences if she disclosed the matter to anyone.”
