Vadodara A rivalry during kite flying on Uttarayan led to a clash between two neighbours in the Kishanwadi area on Thursday night. According to the police, a daily wager and his brother were beaten up by their neighbours after their kite landed in their premises on Thursday.

Panigate police officers said the incident occurred in Sudamapuri slums area on Thursday night, when two brothers — Govind and Mukesh Pateliya — were beaten up by their neighbours.

“Govind and Mukesh were flying kites along with the accused, when they fought on a minor issue. After sometime, Govind's kite fell in Kirit's compound. Kirit and Punit attacked Mukesh with sticks,” said a police official.

Mukesh was severely beaten up and got serious head injuries. The duo stopped beating Mukesh after Govind reached their house with some neighbours. Police said Kirit and Punit were in inebriated state and had fights with other neighbours on similar issues. “We are looking for these troublemakers, they are still at large.”

In a similar incident on Wednesday, one Vasant Somvanshi was beaten up by his neighbours, Kishan Chunara and Dhaniram Chunara, behind the Pratap Nagar Railway Station. Police said that the accused were making a lot of noise in the afternoon. When Somvanshi requested the duo to keep it low, he was beaten up with stones and sticks. Police have arrested Kishan and Dhaniram.
