Lucknow Known for her fastidiousness , BSP chief Mayawati did not like what was shown about her, in a film made on the achievements of her government. The film was to be released on Thursday.

In a special screening held exclusively for the chief minister on Wednesday evening, Mayawati is said to have raised many objections on the content and quality of the film. According to sources in the government, she asked the company that made the film, to see some of her films made in the past, to get a clue of what she wanted.

The Department of Information, UP, has so far got many films made on Mayawati’s government in the past. This includes even documentaries made by professionals.

The latest film was also made by a reputed company — Grey Worldwide India Private Limited — whose senior officials were present during the screening on Wednesday. The officials of the company, however, refused to speak on the matter. Incidentally, the state government officials too preferred to stay mum on the subject.

The company had made eight set of films — of one minute each — showing achievements of the Mayawati government. The total cost of the project was about Rs 2 crore, of which 70 per cent had already been paid to the company, confirmed a government official.

“But the CM was not very happy with the films, therefore they will be made again,” he added. The film was also seen by a committee of senior officers of the UP government, before it was showed to the CM.

According to BSP senior leaders, despite her busy schedule, Mayawati scans each and every press release, poster, hoarding and even the pamphlets and leaflets, printed by the party for rallies and other functions. She is known to even decide which one of her photographs, would be published in a publicity material.
