Chandigarh The owner of a finance company was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping his employee by taking her to Shimla on the pretext of a meeting with clients. The accused was identified as Anurag Aggarwal of Action Company.

According to the police, Anurag had started the business only a month ago in Sector 22 and appointed the victim, a resident of Sector 47, as an assistant. The girl had joined last Thursday.

The victim told the police that Aggarwal called her into his cabin on Friday and said they had to go to Shimla for a business meeting on Saturday. “He picked me up from my house in the morning and we reached Shimla by evening,” she said.

“Once there, Aggarwal made several calls pretending to talk to clients. After a few minutes, he told the girl that the meeting was cancelled and arranged rooms in a hotel for the night. In the night, Aggarwal entered the girl’s room and raped her. He threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone of the incident. They returned to the city on Sunday,” said a police officer.

The girl narrated the incident to her family, who lodged an FIR. A medical examination of the girl at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, confirmed rape. “We have started investigations,” said Station House Officer, Sector-17 police station, Inspector Ramesh Chand.
