Fire breaks out at plastic factory, 4 injured

Vadodara A major fire broke out in a plastic factory in Makarpura GIDC on Thursday, injuring four workers and causing huge material losses. The cause of fire could not be ascertained. About 20 fire engines were rushed to the site to control the fire, which had spread to the nearby shades.

According to the police, the fire broke out between 1 and 1.15 pm in shade number 835 and 836 owned by Climax Synthetics Pvt Ltd. The company manufactures plastic pipes and sheets. The approximate losses have been estimated

to be Rs 1 crore, according to the police.

The company MD, Pankaj Khemraj Mundhra said that they are yet to ascertain the extent of the damage. “All the workers are safe. Nobody is hurt. The factory is insured and everything is under control,” he said.

The police are further investigating the matter.
