Earlier, this project was reviewed by Ashok Lavasa, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Power). Officials said the next major milestone of boiler hydraulic test of unit-I is expected to be achieved ahead of the scheduled date. An expenditure of Rs 1,439.05 crore has been incurred so far on this project against the total engineering, procurement and construction cost of Rs 3,775.43 crore.
Lavasa asked the officers of the Irrigation Department and the Public Works (B&R) Department to expedite the construction of the water inlet channel before May, to enable the plant authorities to complete the tests for commissioning of the plant. He also exhorted the Haryana State Road and Bridges Corporation to expedite the construction of the barracks meant for the Central Industrial Security Force and the residential accommodation for the employees.
He directed that Reliance Infrastructure and the DCRTPP officers need to maintain a close liaison with Indian Railways for early completion of the marshalling yard and railway siding to enable the receipt of adequate quantity of coal at the plant.
With the commissioning of these two units, 288 lakh additional units per day will be available to State of Haryana.
