When was the last time a workout at the gym gave you muscle stress instead of fitness? Happens often? "That's because fitness clubs don't concentrate much on small details that actually play a vital role in the workout." says Vidur Sodhani, Managing Director, Elemention. "For instance, the floor you workout on makes a great deal of how much difference on impact it will make on your body."

Nestled at the CGA, Elemention is an Indo-European joint venture providing American fitness equipment for gym-goers to flex their muscles. "Safety and effectiveness are the key words that we go by, so all the machines are developed with extensive research of human body. The treadmills, for example, have a cushioned impact, which cuts off the inherent risk of knee and back injuries," adds Vidur.

Facilities available at the fitness centre include spa, aerobics, judo, kickboxing and salsa. "We provide a specialized training program for all individuals. Each member goes through a health check with the fitness manager before a workout regime is prescribed," Gaurav, a trainer chips in. The trainers are hand-picked from among those who have a degree in fitness.

If you want to join the gym with a partner, it'll cost you Rs 24,000 for a year, while a family of four or two couples will have to pay Rs 32,000 per annum. Golf members will need to shell out Rs 16,000 to get a year of a fit body and healthy mind.
