President of BBA students’ association, Uttkarsh Vyas said 70 per cent of the competition is over and only 30 per cent remains. The five would now be grilled in debate, poster and ad-making, and group discussion rounds.
The event started on January 17 with 36 teams making presentations on innovative marketing and profit-making ventures. Fifteen were selected for the five-day second round, but one was disqualified midway. Leading the five teams is the “Golden Runnes” from the BBA programme of M S University, who have notched up profits of up to Rs 42, 880.
“Golden Runnes organised music and dance competition called Baazigar Idol, in which, a large number of students participated.
The leading team raised the money through participation in the competition. The next winner was another team from BBA faculty, ‘D-Runs’, which made a profit of Rs 26,601 by organising a party,” Vyas said.
He said there was a 10 per cent cut to the BBA students’ association from all the final 14 teams and 25 per cent from them if they availed any sponsorship. He also reminded about ‘wild card’ entry scheme for the competing teams, under which, the team “Ushta-te”, headed by Jigar Vyas was selected for the grand finale. The team made a neat profit of Rs 11,000 with their vehicle maintenance and washing, and food product ventures.
“With their excellent fund management and market strategy,’'Ushta-te has impressed the judges. Hence, we chose them for the grand finale,” Vyas added.
