According to Station House Officer Ranjodh Singh, Sunil Bansal, a fashion show organiser had called the five models for a fashion show at Dharampur on Thursday and had agreed to pay a sum of Rs 20,000. Bansal, however, had to cancel the show as his sponsors suddenly backed out. The girls were shocked when the Bristol hotel, where they were lodged, denied them from leaving the rooms till the payment of Rs 85,000 was made.
In response, the models called the media and the police and claimed that they had been “kidnapped” in the hotel. While accusing the show organiser of ‘misbehaving’ with them, the models also blamed the hotel authorities of not allowing them to check-out.
The organiser, Sunil Bansal, was taken into custody by the police and a case on charges of creating nuisance was registered against him later in the night, said the SHO. The police officials arrested Bansal around 1.00 am on Friday morning in an inebriated state. Bansal’s brother, however, reached the hotel and mooted a compromise on a sum of Rs 70,000 which was mutually accepted by the parties on the following morning. Interestingly, the hotel bills were not paid even after the incident.
