Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaweri Baweja took cognizance of the chargesheet filed against the seven accused — Mohd Saif, Zeeshan Ahmed, Zia-ur-Rehman, Saqib Nisar and Mohd Shakeel.
“Considering the materials on records, prima facie it appears that Saif, Zeeshan, Zia, Saqib, Shakeel, Mohd Sadiq Sheikh and Quamuddin conspired to carry out the blasts at Barakhamba Road and other areas in Delhi on September 13,” the CMM said in her order.
The court further directed the police to provide copies of the chargesheet against all the accused in cases registered in connection with the blasts in Karol Bagh, Greater Kailash-I and Barakhamba Road.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Sanjiv Yadav, investigating officer in the case, informed the court that the police would soon file a supplementary chargesheet against the other accused. He further submitted that the forensic report in a case registered in connection with the Barakhamba Road blast was awaited while the sanction for prosecuting the accused in the case had already been obtained. The court also issued production warrants for the alleged co-founder of Indian Mujahideen Mohd Sadiq Sheikh and another suspected member Quamuddin Kapadia who are in Ahmedabad.
