Allahabad Five South Korean tourists were allegedly drugged and robbed in the Allahabad-bound Mathura Express train on Thursday. They have been admitted to Tej Bahadur Sapru District Hospital in Allahabad.

The victims — two boys and three girls — have been identified as Kim Moien, Mo Ayang, Jung Dechue, Kim Youre and Lee Hall.

They were on their way to Allahabad from Agra. A man, posing as co-passenger in the train, offered them food near Tundla on Wednesday night. After sometime, they fell unconscious. The General Railway Police (GRP) personnel found them unconscious even after the train had reached Allahabad in the morning.

“It’s a serious matter and we have launched a massive manhunt to arrest the culprits,” said GRP Inspector Anil Rai. He added that the tourists probably were in Allahabad to visit the Magh Mela.

The condition of the three girls was serious, said Chief Medical Officer K M Tripathi. “The one who was recovering could not explain the incident due to language problem,” he added. The district and police authorities were trying to contact the South Korean Embassy in New Delhi.
