Pune The Faraskhana police have rescued three Bangladeshi girls who were smuggled into India by Shaukat Mukhlesh Shaikh, a Bangladeshi national, to sell them in the red light area of Budhwar Peth on Friday night. The police have booked Shaikh under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

The police were acting on a tip-off that three girls were sold for flesh trade at Janta lodge in Budhwar Peth, following which they laid a trap on Friday night and nabbed Shaikh.

Shaikh is staying at Ambegaon and hails from Bangladesh. After preliminary investigations, the three girls were sent to a rescue center at Nana Peth.
