Follow directions or face disciplinary action, DPI(S) tells private schools in city

Chandigarh, January 31 The DPI(S) S K Setia said that disciplinary action would be taken against private schools that have not followed the instructions of the Education Department regarding the closure of schools.

A circular was sent to theindependent school association and private schools in the city. DS Bedi, president of Independent Schools Association said, “The department should not force any private school to close. The change in timings is enough. Closure of schools may create problems for parents also.”

Meanwhile, on the basis of a report published in Newsline and representation provided by the Government Teachers’ Union, the Education Department has constituted a new District Level Committee for the National Awards 2007.

The DPI(S) S K Setia said that the committee will have three members. SIE, Sector 32 Director will be the committee chairman. The committee will also comprise the senior most lecturer from SIE and Madhu Bahl, Principal KBDAV School.
