11 East Street café
Have you ever visited 3, Trafalgar Square, London in Pune? We are talking about a new avenue bringing global cuisines under one umbrella.
11 East Street café offers a variety of culinary flavours from Indian, Oriental, European, American to Middle East all served under one roof. Atleast this is what Mony Sachdev, owner of 11 East Street café, promises. A double-decker bus welcomes you to a place where you can find an in-house bakery, a multi-cuisine restaurant and a lounge bar for all those die hard food-lovers. “The multi cuisine concept has never been tried and tested in Pune before and we have provided the fanatic food lovers a reason to smile,” says Sachdev. The ambience gives it a semblance of London Street. It’s a perfect place to hang oout with your friends andfamily. Sachdev further adds, “We have provided ample space in our restaurants as most of the eateries are full on weekends. We also have specially designed sections for business meets, kitty parties and family celebrations.”
The double-decker bus houses a cake shop with a variety of pastries that can be enjoyed in the bus.
Sachdev also tells us, “We start serving from 11 am and continue till late in the night. People from all backgrounds relish our food and are very enthusiastic to try out delicacies.” One can try Lebanese Shawarma, Italian pastas and ravioli, Spanish paella, Continental rosti, Oriental stir-fry, Mexican nachos, tacos, enchiladas and even tortillas in a true English manner.
For desserts, the café offers Cup a Misu- a Genoise cake layered with a mascarpone mousse finished with a delicious chocolate.
The café offers a wide variety of cocktails and mocktails. “Tequila, Malibu, Amaretto, Peach schnapp, kamikaze and the lovely Oompa Loompa can truly add fun to your evening,” adds Mony.

Ccasanova
For those looking for an Italian delight, here is one more restaurant in the city, that promises a truly delicious experience of Italian cuisine. Ccasanova in Kalyaninagar can be a suitable choice for you for many reasons.
The river facing location of the restaurant, to start with, not just helps in creating a romantic mood but also sets up the ambience similar to a restaurant near the Venetian canals. The mood here goes with the Italian music playing in the background with Antonio Lucio Vivaldi, Pietro Guarneri creating a nostalgic environment. Just when you are totally engrossed in the euphoric interiors of the place, the menu card adds to the exhilerating experience. One of them is for food, the second one for liquor and the third one, which is exclusively a specialty, of Ccasanova - a cigar menu. “ We strictly serve the food from the right hand side which is the Italian way of serving,” says Rachna Punjabi, the owner.
And she can’t just stop talking about her restaurant. “This is my baby. Everything here has been designed by me,” says the designer turned entrepreneur. “When I thought of starting a restaurant, the first thought that came to my mind was Italian food,” she adds.
The place serves a seven course Italian menu. To give you an example your lunch can start with something like Zuppa Verdure an Italian soup with chunks of fresh vegetables in clear broth or Zuppa Pollo, a soup that contains chicken. To set your appetite, the starters that include Insalata Tuscany or Insalata Gamberetti that has bell peppers, prawn, garlic and egg less mayo dressing do the needful. The pizza here is not the regular one with a thick pizza base. “We have our own bakery where we make thin pizza base. We want people to concentrate more on the topping than the base,” says chef Kamal Thapa. And coming next in-line, the desserts are something that you can’t afford to miss. A strong recommendation would be Torta di mele con gelati with swirls of soft cream and crisp wafer that is a delight.
This entire course is served at the restaurant at Rs 349 from Monday to Friday between 12 noon to 3.30 pm.
