Let’s Rock!
Headbanfers, hardcore rockers and backstage junkies - the time has come to break guitars and raise hell for Nokia Hero Honda Campus Rock Idols (CRI) is back with season five. Sounding the bugle for a battle between the best of campus rock bands, Campus Rock Idols is all set to attack Chandigarh on January 23.

An event managed and conceptualized by DNA Networks, “Nokia Hero Honda Campus Rock Idols has struck the right chord for rock music lovers at the campus level and it’s one of the most anticipated events of the campus calendar,” says the MD DNA Networks, T Venkat Vardhan. “In the past, we’ve been flooded with number of entries from all corners of the country, bands singing in their local language, in different styles and original compositions. In fact Afflatus, an all-girls band from Shillong were the runners-up in the 2004 edition,” he adds.

While the Rock Idols annually tours to all colleges in metros and chosen cities across four zones, this year, Chennai and Indore have been added as new routes. “CRI is divided into four zones and the regional winners from each of these zones, which are Pune, Calcutta, Delhi, Hyderabad go on to compete against each other at National Finals in Hyderabad on February 7, 09. Apart from winning “Campus Rock Idol” of the year, winning bands in earlier series of CRI have also performed alongside international rock icons such as Rasmus, Bryan Adams and more recently Iron Maiden,” informs Vardhan. Are you ready to rock?
