The ongoing International Battery Industry Trade Fair pulled huge crowds on its second day today. More than 9000 trade people visited the fair at Sector 34 exhibition ground, but show stealer was Miss Kolkata '07, Sheena Chauhan who was the Master of the ceremony. Meanwhile, the trade fair has a huge range of small and affordable invertors and batteries. Spiritual take
On the occasion of the Tri Centenary of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the Punjabi Theatre Academy, UK and Guru Nanak Sikh School, Hayes is bringing to town their production “Guru Manyo Granth”. "For the first time, a UK-based Punjabi production will be staging this play to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Guru Granth Sahib Ji," informs assistant director Gaurav Sharma. The production, he adds, will take you on a powerful and eventful historic journey from Talwandi Sabo to Nanderh Sahib. The play has been designed by Sharma and directed by T.P Sindra. Toon Time
If you thought animations were only for kids, then check this out. The Alliance Francaise Chandigarh in collaboration with the French Embassy and The Indian Express is bringing to town, 'Resolutely Animated', a festival of animated movies complete with flavours of society, love, work et al, for adults. Starting January 20, at 3:30pm, the films are as follows: Du Court au long ( The Short And The Long Of It), Ah! l'amour....(Ah! Love...), Animations Citoyennes ( Social Shorts), Enfantillages (Kid Shiff), Entre Chiens et Loups ( Break of Dawn) and On n'est pas des machines ( We Are Not Machines), which will be screened on Saturday, January 24 at 11 a.m. This will be followed by a French brunch of Rs. 100 at 12 noon at the Bistrot Montmartre. For tickets, contact the office at Alliance Francaise, Sector 36. The festival is from January 20 to 24.
