Getting personal
At a time when stress levels are high, all of us are looking for ways to de-stress. Offering help is the all-new I-Yoga or Individualized Yoga. In town to conduct a one of a kind I-Yoga camp is Swami Lalji Maharaj, president of the Delhi-based Mukti Marg Mission and ‘Pradhaan Yogacharyadev’ of 25 state Yog Sabhas. A fourth generation Yoga Guru, Swami Lalji believes in the philosophy of selfless social service and therefore the three-day camp is open to all and will be conducted from March 6 to 9 at Yog Divya Mandir, Sector 30, Chandigarh. Talking of various ‘aasans’, Swami Lalji explained the various healing abilities of yoga. “I-Yoga is like going to a specialist doctor who can provide with a precise solution to specific problem. At an ordinary yoga camp, a large number of people are mindlessly instructed unlike an I-Yoga camp where individuals will be educated on asanas that suit their age, gender, body condition and requirements,” informed Swami Lalji.

In fond memory
The atmosphere was poetic, nostalgic and romantic all at once as Urdu poets came together at a function organised by Haryana Urdu Akademi, Panchkula to remember writer Majaz who made commendable contribution towards the enrichment of the modern Urdu poetry. Majaz was one of those progressive writers on whom very little research work has been done. Sheba Liaquat Ali, niece of Majaz flew in specially to pay tributes to him and she also shared a few lines from her book ‘Majaz Ki Battain’. The Akademi has organized this two-day international seminar on Majaz, which was formally inaugurated by Governor of Haryana Dr A R Kidwai. The occasion also saw two books ‘Ehsaas Aur Bandini’ by Amandeep and ‘Diwan-e-gafil’ by Omprakash Sharma being released along with a newsletter in Urdu - Khabarnama. Many Nazams and Ghazals were recited to add to the mood.
