Vadodara, February 22 Even as Footprints-08, the annual festival of MSU's engineering and technology faculty, collided with two other festivals of fine arts faculty and journalism faculty, the three-day event saw participation of at least 1,000 students in a rally promoting the campaign to save the girl child.

According to Mihir Thaker, one of the organisers, on the one hand, the students would be presenting their research papers, while on the other, a host of computer gaming sessions would engage them in a battle of wits.

On Thursday, the heat took its toll after a student volunteer from the engineering and technology faculty collapsed after being out in the sun. He was immediately rushed to the SSG Hospital and has reportedly recovered. In view of this, the organisers are now gearing up to provide water facilities on the campus.

Meanwhile, the fine arts faculty is organising a two-day audio-video festival 'Full On'08', which will showcase the talent of students as filmmakers, exploring their subjects through art. According to the organisers, a musical evening might be organised in which students would perform.

Similarly, the journalism faculty is also holding its annual fest, wherein students would come up to discuss various issues relating to media. The students would present their research papers on several topics at the event, organisers said.
