Former MSU V-C in PM’s advisory committee

Vadodara Former M S University Vice-Chancellor Lord Bhikhu Parekh has been appointed to the Prime Minister Global Advisory Committee.

The committee has been set up to advise the Government of India on how to establish close cultural, educational, economic and political ties with overseas Indians and to use them to promote country's development.

Others on the committee include Amartya Sen, Laxmi Mittal, Sam Pitroda and Jagdish Bhagwati, among others. The committee will meet twice a year.

At present, Lord Parekh is a professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Westminster. He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2007.

Lord Parekh was appointed to the Prime Minister Global Advisory Committee a week ago.
