'Foster a child' car drive

Mumbai, January 4 The annual Gulf Foster A Child Car Drive _ an event that promotes a social cause along with the competitive motor sports _ will be held on January 13. The event will start from Our Lady’s Home in Parel and after winding its way through the city finish at an undisclosed location.

In its seventh edition, the unique feature of this event is the mandatory presence of a orphan child with every team.

Organised by Sportscraft, Foster A Child Car Drive is not about speed, but concerns one's navigation skills of a team.

Each team will have to decide on its navigator, who will be responsible for reading the route chart that will be given at the start of the race.

There will be special prizes for all-ladies teams. In addition there will be prizes for the best dressed team and best decorated car.

Twenty-five entries are being offered to corporate houses while another 40 will be reserved for individuals.

Entry fees are Rs. 5000 for a corporate entry and Rs 1000 for others.
