New Delhi A city court on Thursday remanded two suspected members of the Indian Mujahideen’s media cell to four days’ police custody for allegedly drafting emails related to the Delhi serial blasts.

Mubin Kader Sheikh and Asif Bashir Sheikh, formally arrested by the Special Cell recently in connection with the September 13 blast in Karol Bagh, were produced in court after their 10-day police remand. “The accused are sent to further police custody till March 16 for the unravelling of the entire criminal conspiracy in the case,” Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja said.

Mubin, an alleged accomplice of Mohd Mansoor Asghar Peerbhoy, and Asif used to translate mails from Urdu to English, which were sent to media houses by Peerbhoy, the police have alleged.

A graduate in computer science, Mubin allegedly drafted the emails sent to media houses minutes before the serial blasts in Delhi and Ahmedabad. He was arrested along with Peerbhoy by Mumbai police last year.

Mubin, meanwhile, said he be allowed access to books and other reading material for his exam on March 3 and April 2. The court asked him to move a proper application on March 16 when his custodial interrogation period finishes.

Peerbhoy, a computer engineer accused of sending terror emails to media houses by hacking Wi-Fi networks, was sent to police custody till March 9 after he was brought to the city on February 28 for his alleged role in the September 13 serial blasts.
