Four sent to police custody for property dealer’s murder

Mohali A Mohali district court on Thursday sent the four accused in the murder of Mohali-based property dealer, Harwinder Singh, to two days’ police custody.

Harwinder’s manager Randhir Singh alias Dheera, driver Girdhari Lal, and their two accomplices — Sewak Singh alias Sewi and Nirmal Singh — were produced today before the court of Additional District Judge S K Garg.

Seeking police remand of the accused to recover Harwinder’s money and the baseball bats and swords, with which he was allegedly beaten to death, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) in-charge Sub-Inspector Gurwinder Singh apprised the court of how the realtor’s staffers ganged up to kill him apprehending action against the frauds committed by Harwinder’s manager, Dheera.

Accepting the prosecution’s request, the court directed to produce the accused again on Saturday.

Harwinder had left home carrying Rs 3 lakh in a Maruti Zen car with his employees and two others on February 4, but was untraceable ever since. It was after registering an FIR on Wednesday that the CIA staff of Mohali police, arrested all the four accused who guided the police party to the Sirhind Canal where the decomposed body of Harwinder was found from inside the car. A case under Sections 302, 364, 120-B and 34 of the IPC was lodged against the four accused.
