Four-member housebreaking gang apprehended

Vadodara, February 5 Acting on a tip off, the Vadodara City Police on Tuesday nabbed four members of a housebreaking gang from Dahod district, who were on the run with stolen valuables worth Rs 4.75 lakh from the Gorwa area of the city.

Police said they arrested the offenders during a spot check after receiving information that four people who had recently carried out heists in the Rhino Circle Road were heading towards the Shastri Bridge.

“One Mathur Palas from Garbada, Jasu Mali, Mukesh Bhuriya and Sanjay Ninama from Limkheda were caught red-handed during a spot check following a tip off. The offenders from Dahod were passing by the Rhino Circle and police officials did a spot check and seized gold and silver jewelleries from them,” a police officer said.

Police further said that the valuables were found in the pocket of the offenders during checking, adding that further investigation revealed that they were stolen during house break-ins at Shiv Tenement, Laxmipura Road, Jaladham Tenement and Surabhi Park of Gorwa area in the recent past.

Police has seized gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 2.56 lakh and Rs 39, 931, cash Rs 24,089, a mobile and one jeep worth Rs 1.5 lakh from the four.
