Prajapati and former MSUSU General Secretary Rutwij Joshi alleged that students from the ABVP and National Students' Union of India (NSUI) cause a lot of disruption to the smooth functioning of the university, as they are protected by vested political interests.
Apprising the Vadodara Joint Commissioner of Police, Pravin Sinha, of the prevailing scenario in the campus, the student leaders named former MSU General Secretary Vikas Dubey, who has a past criminal record, along with Science Faculty students for threatening to beat up Prajapati.
Urging the police official to arrest the students involved in the incident, Joshi said, "They are moving around the campus freely even after a complaint has been filed at Sayajigunj Police Station." Prajapati said that Dubey, who is now an ABVP member, had been engaged in brawls since 1998 when he was a student of Technology and Engineering Faculty. Meanwhile, Joshi questioned the claims made by MSUSU Vice-President Hiral Sarvaiya, who had previously sought details of the funds spent and the sponsorships during the youth festival, Sparsh-08.
