Sukhbir will lay foundation stones of state-of-the-art air-conditioned multi-storied bus terminal-cum-commercial complex, super-specialty cancer hospital and city centre, said an official spokesperson on Friday.

First on Sukhbir's itinerary will be the unveiling of the plaque of Super-Specialty Cancer Hospital, to come up along the Civil Hospital in Phase VI.

One of the two such advanced healthcare centres with another in Bathinda, has been awarded to Max Healthcare on the public-private partnership mode. Both these projects are scheduled to be completed within 18 months.

Sukhbir's next stop will be in Sector 57 where he will launch the work on a first-of-its-type tower-type building for the bus terminal-cum-commercial complex to come up on a 7.02-acre site.

Gurgaon-based C&C Constructions has bagged the project at Rs 57 crore in the re-bidding held recently after Mumbai-based M/s Akruti City Limited failed to submit a performance security of Rs 10 crore and 50 per cent of the upfront consideration of the total bid amount, within the stipulated time period.

Sukhbir will later lay the foundation stone of the City Centre Business District in Sector 62, for which the concept plan has been finalised by Singapore-based Zurong Consultants. While a five-star hotel site has already been put on auction, a mixed use land site adjoining Fortis Hospital will also go under the hammer soon, said GMADA Chief Administrator Vivek Partap Singh. He added that work on widening and strengthening of road network has already reached an advanced stage.
