The Unwaba Revelations, the third and concluding part of Samit Basu’s Gameworld Trilogy, was released at the India Habitat Centre on Wednesday. It has been four years since Basu made a name for himself as a young and original voice in science fiction in India and the 28-year-old said the journey had been nothing short of fascinating. Just like The Simoqin Prophecies and The Manticore’s Secret, Basu’s latest offering is an epic played out between heroes and gods, a thrilling race to save a world inhabited by monsters, chimeras, buccaneers and creatures of Basu’s imagination. Apart from the trilogy, he has steadily produced a much-read blog, comic books with Virgin Comics and now even a comic series for British pop-rockers Duran Duran. “Writing a book is an isolated experience, but what has really excited me about collaborations is the creative teamwork,” says Basu, who is now collaborating with American animator and filmmaker Terry Gilliam of the Monty Python comedy troupe for a series for Virgin Comics. — Vivas Parashar
