Gandhinagar to host Investiture Ceremony of Southern Command

Ahmedabad The Investiture Ceremony of the Indian Army’s Southern Command will be held in Gandhinagar this year.

The main ceremony will be held on January 15 at Town Hall, while a band concert by the Army Brass Band will be organised on January 13.

The General Officer Commanding in Chief of Southern Command, Lieutenant General Pradeep Khanna, will preside over the ceremony. He will later present awards to officers and personnel below the officer ranks.

Later, the awardees will be taken around the places of interest in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

Four awardees are among the recipients of Bar to Sena Medals, Sena Medals, Bar to Vishisht Seva Medals and Vishisht Seva Medals this year.

Two major generals, 13 brigadiers, eight colonels, one lieutenant colonel, seven majors, four captains, two junior commissioned officers and nine other officers will also be honoured.
