Gang of thieves busted

Amritsar The Amritsar police today busted a gang of thieves and snatchers with the arrest of two persons, identified as Harprit Singh, alias Lali, and Rohit Kumar, both residents of Ram Nagar Colony.

Three motorcycles and two daggers were recovered from their possession. The police authorities said district narcotics cell, headed by Sub-Inspector Varinder Kumar and ASI Anokh Singh, acting on a tip-off, conducted raids and arrested the accused from the rear side of Sangam Cinema, while their two accomplices, Kuldeep Singh, alias Deepa, of Islamabad locality, and Jagbir Singh of Adarsh Nagar escaped.

“Investigations revealed that the accused are notorious criminals and raids are being conducted to arrest the absconders,” he said.
