Ahmedabad The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) has had a moment of glory with its Under-19 team bagging both the Vinoo Mankad one-day tournament and Cooch Behar trophy this year.

In recognition of the achievement, the GCA will organise a felicitation ceremony at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera on January 25 and give away cash prizes to the team members.

The players who scored 100 runs in an inning or took more than five wickets will also be honoured.

“The glorious moment has come to Gujarat for the first time. It is very rare for a single team to bag both the trophies as our Under-19 team has done. The three winning teams (Under-19, Under-16 and Ranji) from nine affiliated units of GCA have bagged the biggest amount for their victories.

Among other teams will be the Vijay Merchant Under–16 for three days tournament, C K Nayudu Under-22 for four days tournament, Poly Umarigar Under-16 school tournament, Senior Women’s West League (one-day), Senior Women’s

West League (Two-day) and Under-19 Women’s Tournament (one-day).
