GCCI felicitates women achievers

Ahmedabad Celebrating the spirit of International Women’s Day, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) today felicitated top women achievers and presented them with awards for their contribution in their respective fields.

State Revenue Minister Anandiben Patel, while presenting the awards, said the society has now started recognising the immense contribution of women in almost all the fields.

She added that women can be seen excelling in fields like education, medical, service sector, textiles and fashion, industry, law and entrepreneurship.

National Dairy Development Board (NDDB)’s Chairman Dr Amirta Patel and surrogacy mother fame Dr Naina Patel are among the 14 women who have been felicitated by the trade body today. Dr Amirta Patel and famous danseuse Kumudini Lakhia have been given lifetime achievement award while well-known fashion designer Archana Shah, who created a leading brand Bandhej, has been given fashion industry award. Others who were felicitated are: Kanchana Sahu of GK Coal Company for trading, Varsha Amin of Amin machinery Pvt Ltd for small scale industry and Manjula Shroff of Calorx Foundation.
