Kolkata George Telegraph striker Alex died after a heart attack in Silchar early Tuesday. The 24-year-old from Uganda, who went to Silchar with the team to play in the I-League second division matches, was in fine shape till last night. In fact, he scored the George Telegraph’s only goal in their 2-1 defeat against Lajong FC yesterday. Around 2 am, he had chest pain. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

“He joined us two months back. He was a good team-man. I just can’t believe he is no more. We all are in a state of shock,” Alex’s team-mate and veteran striker Dipendu Biswas said.
