A cash prize of Rs 2,500 each were awarded to Station House Officer (SHO) of the Sector-17 police station Ramesh Chan, investigation officer Sub-Inspectors (SI) Sanjeev Kumar and Ram Rattan. The other officers awarded with cash and commendation certificates include: SI Jaspal Singh, SI Amanjot Singh, SI Karnail Singh, SI Usha Rani, Head Constable (HC) Varinder Kumar, Constable Narinder Kumar, Constable Jaswinder Singh, Constable Surjit Singh, Constable Rajesh Kumar, Constable Sirish Partap Singh, Constable Sudhir Kumar, Constable Satish Kumar, Constable Sudhir Kumar, Constable Jarnail Singh, Constable Hansdeep, Constable Krishan Kumar, Constable Sanjiv Kumar and Home Guard Volunteer Anil Kumar. The HCs and constables were awarded Rs 1,000 each.
After arresting all the accused, challans were prepared and sent to the court for judicial verdict and the trial of this case has led to the conviction of all the 5 accused, said Jain. All the five accused in the case have been sentenced to life imprisonment.
