GGN Khalsa College hosts Sur Sanjh, a music contest

Ludhiana, March 6 Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College held Sur Sanjh, an inter-college folk singing competition. As many as 13 teams from various colleges of the district participated in the competition.

Former vice chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University Prith Pal Singh Kapur presided over the function. The team trophy was won by Master Tara Singh College. Kiranjit, Jagjit, Parminder Singh, Lakhveer Singh and Sonia were the winners in the ‘geet’ category. Rajbir, Mandip Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur, Mandeep Kaur and Harmit Kaur were adjudged winners in the ‘lokgeet’ category.

The college bhangra team also performed on the occasion and enthralled the audience. Principal TS Anand said that the motive of organising the function was to acquaint the students with the country’s rich culture and promote folk songs.
