The deceased, Aruna Chatterjee, lived with her parents in Paschim Vihar area of West Delhi.
On Friday, around 9 am, she went to her friend Pritish’s place in Paryavaran Vihar in New Ashok Nagar. “When she found Pritish was not at home, she called him on his mobile. He asked her to wait inside as she was carrying spare keys,” the police officer said. When he reached, he found Aruna lying on the floor frothing in the mouth, said the police. He immediately took her to a hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
Aruna was a second year student at IP College and an intern with a media house near Filmistan, Noida. The police said that Pritish lives alone and both knew each other for a long time.
Aruna’s father is a businessman in Paschim Vihar.
A case has been registered at the New Ashok Vihar police station. Deputy Commissioner of Police, East Delhi, Anand Mohan said, “Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide and no foulplay is suspected.”
Pritish works with a private company in Noida and hails from Hyderabad, the police added.
