According to the complaint, the accused Mukesh Ladani (30) obtained photographs and birth certificate from the victim identified as Bhumika Ladani (20), resident of Kevadra village in Keshod taluka, assuring her of a job, but instead misused the same for registering a fake marriage with the marriage registrar’s office at Junagadh.
Bhumika said when she came to know of this, she rushed to the Junagadh B division police station and lodged a complaint against Mukesh. Junagadh Police has registered a complaint against accused under IPC section 406 and 420 for fraud.
When contacted, police sub inspector J M Gohil said “allegations levelled in the FIR were found true during the investigation, and the accused was arrested on Monday and sent in judicial custody”. He said Mukesh, a truck driver by profession, presented himself before the girl as a businessman.
“Besides, she was told that he (Mukesh) runs a transport office and is the owner of the large piece of land. So Bhumika fell into his trap. She was given a false assurance about a job. Later it turned out to be a fraud,” said Gohil.
