Ludhiana Chief Parliamentary Secretary Harish Rai Dhanda on Monday held a meeting with MC officials and reviewed various developmental works being undertaken by the corporation.

Dhanda said that important works should be given priority because even the contractors could not handle all the works simultaneously. He said that 40 new tubewells had to be dug in different parts of the city looking at the water crisis facing the city.

Dhanda said, “Before the summer season, tubewells will become operational in all the areas and consumers will not face any water shortage. Further, even sewerage board is not able to handle all works in one go, so they should hire private contractors to get the works completed.”

All works sanctioned during the Sangat Darshan were discussed with the joint commissioners of the Municipal Corporation along with officials of operation and maintenance cell and few other departments. Dhanda said that broken roads should be repaired on priority.
