Panchkula The Panchkula police claimed to have got vital clues about the turbaned man who is suspected to be the mastermind in the January 22 robbery incident in Sector 20. A gang of four people had drugged two employees of an Amritsar-based jewellery shop at a house in the AWHO Society of Sector 20 and robbed them of gold ornaments worth Rs 30 lakh.

While no arrests have been made yet, Crime Investigating Agency in-charge Inspector Kulbhushan said teams had been sent to different areas in Punjab and Delhi to arrest the accused. The Panchkula police, meanwhile, have asked all jewellers of the adjoining states to inform them in case anyone tried to sell the stolen ornaments.

“Panchkula SP Sandeep Khirwar has asked the jewellers of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, UP and Delhi to help them in arresting the accused. The department has given the mobile numbers and e-mail addresses of several officers,” said a police officer.
