Ahmedabad Gold worth Rs 24 lakh and Rs 75,000 in cash was reportedly looted from a man working in a gold shop, at Thara in Banaskantha late on Friday evening.

According to the complaint, Narendrakumar Thakur, who works for Mahsukhlal Choksi in Patan, was looted on his way back from Thara around 7 pm.

Thara Sub-Inspector A H Desai said: “Thakur was looted by three unidentified men who posed as taxi drivers. An Indica car stopped in front of him and called out for passengers destined for Patan. The victim got inside and when they reached near Wadagam, they tied his hands and legs and robbed him of the gold and money.

Desai said that Thakur told them he managed to free himself as the ropes were slack.

“He said the three allowed him to wear his chappal when it had fallen off. This seems to be a little dicey, but we are searching for the trio,” he added.
