Golden Katar to hold 3-day weapons display in Rajkot

Ahmedabad, January 2 The Ahmedabad-based Golden Katar Infantry Division of the Indian Army will hold a three-day 'Weapons and Equipment' display at the Race Course Ground, Rajkot from January 07-09. The exhibition is open from 10 am to 7 pm for public on all days with a break between 1 pm and 4 pm.

The event will showcase the Army's firepower arsenal of its various fighting units including infantry, armour, mechanised infantry, artillery, air defence, electrical and mechanical engineers, ordnance, medical and signals equipment.

Cadets from the Gujarat NCC will also display the three dimensions of their activities including aero and ship modelling. Stalls of the Army Recruitment Office will provide information to those aspiring to take up career in the Army and the ex-servicemen can educate themselves about Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS). A photo gallery of Operations Parakram and Vijay, Counter-Insurgency and Army Wives' Welfare Association activities will also be displayed in the exhibition.

Highlights of the event include displays by military bands, daredevil motorcycle riders and mounted assault by tanks. Among other martial activities will be Malkhamb, Bhangra and Jhang Patak dance displays.
