Ludhiana Burglars made away with Rs 2.5 lakh and electronic goods worth Rs 23 lakh from a showroom in Gobind Nagar colony near Kaka Marriage Palace on Friday night in the city.

August Computers Centre owner Gurmeet Singh said that the thieves had stolen 23 laptops, 10 LCD monitors and eight cameras. Besides, he said that Rs 2.50 lakh is also missing. Though the exact loss has not yet been assessed, the loss is expected to be at Rs 25 lakh.

According to sources, the theft came to light this morning when showroom employees came to open the showroom and found locks broken and the showroom ransacked.

The Division number 5 police pressed a dog squad and fingerprint experts into service to solve the case. The police took the samples of fingerprints from inside the showroom and matched them with the ones of suspected and history-sheeter thieves. The police were yet to register an FIR. There had been no breakthrough in the case till the filing of this report.
