Addressing a public meeting on Wednesday in Ward 45, Manish Tewari said the government has not fulfilled any promise it made before coming to power.
Instead, he said, the SAD-BJP alliance has focused on “identifying and intimidating political rivals by slapping false cases on them”.
Tewari, who was present with senior Congress leader and former minister Harnam Dass Johar, said the days of the ruling alliance were numbered as people felt disillusioned and alienated under it.
He said the government has not ensured regular power supply, which has led to the industries suffering heavy losses.
Charging the government of forgetting its promises, he said the ruling alliance had promised aata and daal at Rs 4 and Rs 20 per kg, but when it came to fulfilling it, they laid so many conditions.
He said despite the Central government’s “generous grants” to the state government, the SAD-BJP alliance has not utilised those funds.
“These have either been siphoned off or remain unutilised,” he said, adding that the government has never been sincere.
Tewari also had a word of praise for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who, he said has set a record in honesty and development.
