Government transfers 33 IPS officers

Lucknow A day after abolishing the posts of IGs, the state government transferred 33 IPS officers including the SSP, the DIG and the IG (Lucknow) late on Wednesday.

While the government has appointed Pravin Singh as the Range IG of Lucknow, DIG-rank officer N K Srivastawa has been asked to join as the head of Lucknow police replacing outgoing SSP Akhil Kumar. He will now be the new SSP of Ghaziabad. Chandra Prakash, Lucknow DIG, has been made the DIG of Railways (Lucknow).

The government, meanwhile, has asked IG (Lucknow) A K Jain to in the same capacity in the PAC headquarters. Jain will continue to hold the charge of IG (ATS) and IG (CM security).

According to the government’s order, IG Surya Kumar (Allahabad Zone) and IG B P Singh (Kanpur Zone) will be now designated as Range IG at the same area of their posting.

Besides, the government has changed the SSP of several districts including Sultanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Firozabad and Bijnore.
