‘Govt aims to supply 40 litre drinking water per day’

Ambala, February 27 The Haryana government is making every effort to provide safe drinking water to its residents and aims to supply 40 litres of water per person per day. This was stated by the former Excise and Taxation Minister and local MLA Venod Sharma today.

Sharma said that Rs 79.30 crore had been spent on drinking water and sewerage facilities in Ambala Circle with the help of NABARD. 21 new deep tubewells have been installed at the cost of Rs 524.85 lakh and 20 water tanks and 28,000 metre long new pipelines had been also laid. He added that under the extension of Drinking Water Scheme, 46 new deep tubewells, 3 water tanks and 42,000 metre long pipelines had been laid down in the state. He said that with the financial assistance of Rs 613.62 lakh, 44 more deep tubewells, two water store tanks and 40,000 meter long new pipelines were also laid down during the three year of Hooda government rule.
