On Wednesday, Home secretary Ardhendu Sen, transport secretary Sumantra Chaudhury and Kolkata Police commissioner Gautam Mohan Chakraborty were also present in the meeting, which was held at the high court. Senior state government officials had visited a number of petrol pumps on Sunday to assess the amount of LPG supply in the city.
The High Court had also asked the state government to take necessary steps to ensure a smooth supply of LPG by adequate number of outlets in the city. The court had also directed the oil companies to send their representatives to the hearing.
During the hearing on January 10, the state government had pleaded for an extension of the deadline till July 31 this year.
