When contacted, Sajjan Singh said the charges made by the INLD will be probed and in case of any violation, action would be taken by the Election Commission. Talking to the media, Chautala said Sajjan Singh assured them that development works undertaken after February 27 by giving back dates will be considered as a violation. He said the DCs have been instructed to remove all the hoardings.
INLD leaders said even after the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, the government accorded funds for developments works and was alluring the panchayats with special grants.
