Grandparents’ Day celebrated

Ludhiana, March 1 The kindergarten section of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Doraha, celebrated Grandparents Day today.

The tiny tots presented a cultural bonanza. Nursery students presented a choreography on the song ‘Dadi Amma’. The KG girls presented a Haryanvi dance. Boys and girls of KG, dressed as flowers, bees and butterflies, danced on the song ‘Awaara Bhanvrey’.

Prep students taught everyone the Punjabi alphabet through their song and dance sequence. Class I and II presented the plays ‘Tim’s Kite’ and ‘Noddy’s Birthday Party’.

The grandparents enjoyed the antics of the little ones. Fun races like block building race, backward running, tug-of-war, hop race etc were also organized for the children. The grandparents joined the fun by taking part in musical chairs. HS Miglani, the grandfather of Tavleen, won the musical chairs contest.

The punctuality draw was won by Usha Kaushal, grandmother of Yuvraj of Prep. Grandparents who had extended their whole hearted cooperation throughout the session were honoured. All the students of the kindergarten section took part. Prizes were given by Amrit K Gurm, president of the Managing Committee, SGHPS.

Vanchika of Class I, who had secured the 79th rank in India and first rank in state; and Prabhleen Singh of Class II who had secured the 58th rank in India and first in state in the Science Olympiad conducted by Eduheal Foundation, New Delhi, were given scholarships.

Amneet Kaur of Class I, 90th in India and second in state; and Prabhleen Singh of Class II, 78th in India and first in state in the Maths Olympiad, were also given scholarships.
