After Muslims protested against the digging in the wake of graves found, Mayor Pardeep Chhabra along with other MC officials reached at the spot and ordered that the work be stopped.
The protesting claimed that area where the MC was carrying on the digging to lay road was part of a graveyard, which was later encroached by someone to install a sawmill.
