EXPRESS FEATURES SERVICE

Kolkata, February 29 Not many know that I was child radio-artist for AIR Kolkata. And because of that I used to frequent the Akashvani Bhavan. I have lots of fond memories of the place, but my fondest moments are those spent in the canteen there. I would rush down there after every recording and gorge on luchi-alur dum. The waiters there were very fond of me, and would indulge me with sweets and toffees. I used to like the hustle-bustle of the place

But times have changed and with age I have realised that I have mellowed down a lot. I prefer the quite comforts of Bengal Club. The chinese restaurant there serves really good food and the jumbo prawns there are to die for. But more than anything else, I like the understated elegance of the place.
